On February 27, 2018, the Adayaalam Centre for Policy Research held a Memorial Event for A. Sivanandan, Founder Director, Institute for Race Relations, London and Author of ‘When Memory Dies’.

Mr. Sinthujan Varatharajah, PhD Candidate, UCL, University of London

Speaker Bios:

Mr. Sinthujan Varatharajah is a political geographer and essayist based in Berlin, Germany. Sinthujan holds a MSc in Race, Ethnicity and Postcolonial Studies from the LSE and are a PhD Candidate at UCL, University of London. Their work focuses on spatial practices as well as cultural theories. Sinthujan is a Open City Fellow of the Open Society Foundation

Mr. Kumaravadivel Guruparan is currently Senior Lecturer and Head of the Department of Law, University of Jaffna, Sri Lanka. He holds an LL.B. from the University of Colombo and a B.CL. from Balliol College, University of Oxford and is currently completing a Ph.D. in International Law at University College London (UCL) on a Commonwealth Scholarship.
