Discussion: Understanding Diasporic and Refugee life

The Adayaalam Centre for Policy Research in collaboration with the Jaffna Learning Forum, hosted Sinthujan Varatharajah, PhD candidate at the Department of Geography of UCL and co- curator of ‘Roots of Diaspora’, for a discussion titled “Understanding diasporic and refugee life” in Jaffna.

Sinthujan Varatharajah was born and raised in Germany. Sinthujan is the London-based founder of Roots of Diaspora. He is a writer,and an aspiring poet and photographer. Besides a passion for interrogating the present via the past, Sinthujan is interested in critical race and postcolonial theory, migration and diaspora studies as well as Arabic, Farsi and Japanese culture and language. He is currently a PhD Candidate in Political Geography at University College London.
